2 Important Duck Hunting Tips

Tip 1.

If you shoot ducks from a boat, avoid wearing waders. If you must, then remove as much air from the pants as possible and wear a tight gun belt around the waist.

Should you happen to fall in, the remaining air in the waders will help you float, rather than sink to the bottom of the swamp – a very dangerous situation indeed.

TIP 2.

Familiarity with your shotgun and constant practice with the portable trap during the off season will help you fill your game bag with less shots.

Always shoot one bird at a time. Don’t make the mistake of firing blindly into a flock of birds.

Instead, pick out on bird and swing onto it. Forget the others until you see the first one come plummeting down. Then pick out another and another.

Anyone with good eyesight and steady nerves can become remarkably proficient in wingshooting in a short time.
